After studying of physics and a short employment as scientific assistant at the University of Karlsruhe, Dr. Strassemeyer startet working for IBM as systems programmer in 1967. He has held several management and technical leadership positions in the field of programming (compiler building, I/O control, hardware developement, micro programming, systems contronl) and focused on innovative system structures. One outstanding achievement was the development of mainfraimes using CMOS technology and the development of Linux for S390. Mr Strassememyer worked for five years at the IBM Development Headquaters in the USA. He has held the position of technical executive of IBM („Distinguished Engineer“) since 1997 and is a member of the IBM Academy.
